After a pre-season injury, the Atlanta Falcons are headed into week two with Josh Rosen their primary option behind Matt Ryan. An option the Falcons need to keep ready if week one is any indication of what is to come this season for Atlanta.
Matt Ryan has long been Atlanta’s best and most consistent player and will not share snaps with anyone. The only way Rosen gets into the game is if injury strikes. Ryan has been durable throughout his career and there was little reason to be concerned before game one.
Game one saw thirty-six-year-old Matt Ryan take a beating and now he is headed into week two to face a much tougher pass rush. With this in mind, Atlanta needs to make sure Josh Rosen stays ready.

Atlanta has little reason for optimism when it comes to their backup, Josh Rosen. Rosen is a reclamation project three teams have already given up on, a large drop for a kid believed to be a starting quarterback in this league.
This is likely Rosen’s last chance to stick and prove he belongs at least as a backup in this league. A backup Atlanta needs to be ready to utilize.
Ryan has been one of the most durable and toughest quarterbacks over the last decade. The fact there is legitimate concern about whether he can stay healthy speaks to just how terrible this offensive line is.
There is always the chance Rosen can recapture the promise that made him a first-round pick. The Cardinals certainly gave up on Rosen very quickly there is a chance he simply needed time to develop.
A question Atlanta may find the answer to this season if their offensive line cannot improve. Rosen needs to be prepared to step in starting week two in Tampa.
