Before applying sunscreen and driving to a pool near you, make sure to check the pool’s current COVID-19 policy and whether it is open.

Most community pools have reopened after last year’s closures and plan to remain open until Labor Day weekend.

Some pools are dealing with a shortage of certified lifeguards, hindering their ability to open. Harrisburg’s pools are currently closed because of staffing challenges.

Here is a list of area pools and their operating status:

Annville-Cleona Community Pool - Open

• East Maple Street, Annville
• Regular hours of operation in effect from noon to 8 p.m. daily until Labor Day weekend.

Boiling Springs Pool - Open

• 100 Race St., Boiling Springs
• Opens at 11 a.m. for members, and noon for non-members, until 7 or 8 p.m. through Labor Day weekend.

Camp Hill Pool - Open

• Christian L. Siebert Memorial Park, Camp Hill Bypass and North 25th Street, Camp Hill
• Open noon to 8 p.m. daily through Labor Day.

Carlisle Community Pool - Open

• 1236 Franklin St., Carlisle
• Open Sunday through Thursday from noon to 7 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Closed Labor Day weekend.

Chambersburg Aquatic Center - Open

• 1 Washabaugh Way, Chambersburg
• Hours of operation for season pass holders are Monday thru Friday from noon until 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; general admissions are Sunday thru Saturday from 1 to 8 p.m. Closes Labor Day weekend.

Dauphin Pool - Open

• 10 miles north of Harrisburg off Routes 322 and 225, Dauphin/Middle Paxton Twp.
• Operating daily from 12:30 to 8 p.m. If no one is at the pool at 7:30 p.m., then the pool will close at 7:30 p.m. Closes Labor Day weekend.

Devon Manor Swim Club - Open

• 4400 Devonshire Road, Harrisburg
• Hours of operation from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday thru Friday and 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays thru July 31. The pool opens at noon on Saturdays starting Aug. 7. Closes after Labor Day.

Elizabethtown, Willowood Swim Club - Open

• Hours of operations are Monday thru Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Hampden Township Pool - Open

• 5002 Hampden Park Dr., Mechanicsburg
• Hours of operation Monday thru Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Adult fitness hours are from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Halifax Area Community Pool - Open

• Operating hours are from 12:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. from the Last Day of School to Labor Day Weekend.

Harrisburg - Currently closed

• Jackson Lick Pool, 1201 N. 6th St., Harrisburg, and Cloverly Terrace Pool, 1300 block of South 18th Street
• The city doesn’t have enough certified lifeguards to reopen the city’s pools. Officials said once the staffing shortage is addressed the pools will reopen.

Hershey Community Pool - Closed

• The Hershey pool is closed for the 2021 season as the Hershey Community Center is being renovated.

Hummelstown Swim Club - Open

• 301 Kokomo Ave., Hummelstown
• Operating hours are Monday thru Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays from 1 to 9 p.m. Hours are subject to change depending on weather and availability of personnel.

Koons Memorial Swim Club - Open

• Koons Park Drive and LaPorte Street, Linglestown
• Operating hours are Monday thru Sunday from 12 to 8 p.m. The pool may close on Fridays at 6:00 p.m. if there is a private party.

Lancaster County Swimming Pool - Open

• 1050 Rockford Road, Lancaster
• The pool will be open Fridays and Weekends only now until Sept. 5, except Aug. 27 and Sept. 3. Hours are Friday and Friday from 12 to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 7 p.m.

Latshmere Swim Club - Open

Lemoyne Borough Swimming Pool - Open

• 94 Herman Ave., Lemoyne
• Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the 2021 pool season will be limited to season pass holders and their guests. Open weekends until Sept. 6 from 12 to 8 p.m., and weekdays until Aug. 27 from 1 to 7 p.m. Closed Aug. 30 to Sept. 3.

Lititz Springs Pool - Open

• The pool is currently not offering guest passes. Only season pass holders will be admitted to the pool facility due to crowding, behavior concerns, and demands on pool staff. Further notices will be published on the pool’s website and Facebook page. Open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Little Buffalo State Park Swimming Pool - Open

• 1067 Swimming Pool Road, Newport
• The shallow end of the pool is open five days a week from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The other half of the pool is currently closed due to staffing shortages. The spray ground area is also open. The entire pool complex is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Liverpool Community Pool - Open

Manheim Community Pool - Open

• Open daily from noon to 8 p.m. for the main pool and lap pool. Baby pool will close at 6 p.m. daily. Hours may be adjusted until the YMCA gets all guard staff certified to ensure safety.

Marysville Borough Pool - Open

Middletown Community Pool - Closed

• 400 S. Union St., Middletown
• The pool is closed for the season due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Middletown Swim Club’s pool, however, located at 1100 N. Union St., is open through July 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 1-8 p.m. Sundays. Check the website for membership fees.

Mountain View Swim Club - Open
