Just days after Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler announced they were splitting after a decade as a couple , drama has emerged in the wake of their divorce filings.

It's now clear things aren't nearly as amicable as the "Very Cavallari" stars suggested in an April 26 statement revealing they were calling it quits after three kids and nearly seven years of marriage.
Kristin was "surprised" that Jay filed for divorce before she did, TMZ reports, crediting the information to "sources with direct knowledge" of the case. "She didn't know he was doing it," TMZ writes.
After reading his divorce petition, the webloid adds, the Uncommon James designer got upset after learning that the former NFL quarterback described himself as "the available at home parent and the primary caretaker of the parties' minor children," E! News reported.

That, TMZ explains in its story, is the "one thing in his divorce petition that set her off." The site's sources claim Kristin was "shocked" because that's not how she sees it -- she said in her filing, as reported by People magazine, that she "has been the primary residential parent" to kids Camden, 7, Jaxon, 5, and Saylor, 4.
Jay's assertion changed things, according to TMZ. Though he's asked the court to award them joint custody, the former "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills" star, in her response, asked for primary physical custody with visitation for her ex.
Previous reports revealed other issues that might flare up. For example, Jay claims they separated on April 21, but K-Cav said it was "actually April 7," E! reported. April 7, People added, is the day Kristin and Jay returned to the States after vacationing in the Bahamas for several weeks.

Jay's asking for an equitable distribution of their marital assets and to be awarded "reasonable attorney fees" and "general relief to which he may be entitled." In her response, Kristin asked for Jay to pay child support and also pay for their kids' health insurance.
She raised eyebrows when she claimed both "irreconcilable differences" and "inappropriate marital conduct " are the grounds for their divorce.
TMZ pointed out that Tennessee is a "fault" state when it comes to divorce, which means the parties must prove fault on the part of the other spouse. That's led to speculation that Jay cheated. According to TMZ's sources, Jay did not have an affair.
The pair chose to reveal their split via social media over the weekend in the form of identical Instagram posts with different photos -- Kristin chose a pic of herself and Jay walking away from the camera with their arms around each other, while he chose a black-and-white shot of them posing outside in happier times.
"With great sadness, after 10 years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce," they wrote. "We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of. This is just the situation of two people growing apart. We ask everyone to respect our privacy as we navigate this difficult time within our family."

The duo first split in late 2019 following a little more than a year of coupledom . They debuted their rekindled romance in January but haven't been seen together since late February.
On March 17, Elisabeth Röhm's publicist released a statement to Us Weekly announcing that the former "Law & Order" star and her fiancé of a little more than a year , Judge Jonathan T. Colby, called it quits. "[They] are on good terms and remaining friends but they were living different lives and have different priorities at this time. Taika thanked Chelsea for her work producing best picture Oscar nominee "Jojo Rabbit" when he took the stage to accept the best adapted screenplay Academy Award for his work on the same film at the 2020 ceremony in February . According to Page Six, it appears that Taika has moved on romantically with Polly Stoker, who was his Oscars date as well as his assistant on 2016's "Hunt for the Wilderpeople" and 2017's "Thor: Ragnarok."
Season 24 of "The Bachelor" ended with Peter Weber popping the question to Hannah Ann Sluss in Australia ... after Madison Prewett walked away from the competition when she realized that her devoutly Christian lifestyle is just too different from the pilot's. Hannah Ann happily accepted Pete's proposal but called things off with him a couple months later (in January) when she realized he couldn't fully commit to her emotionally because he still had feelings for Madison. In February, Peter and Madison reunited and decided to give it another go. They presented a united front during the live March 10 "After the Final Rose" special -- their first time seeing each other since their brief February reunion -- and said that they weren't engaged but planned to continue dating. But then just two days later, Peter revealed on Instagram that he and Madi "mutually decided to not pursue our relationship any further." Wrote the pilot in the lengthy caption of a photo of himself, "Believe me this was not easy for either of us to be ok with, but after a lot of honest conversations, we have agreed that this is what makes most sense for the two of us."
Page Six revealed on March 8 that Chris Rock and actress Megalyn Echikunwoke quietly broke up a few months earlier after four years of dating. According to one source, the comedian didn't want to settle down following a difficult divorce from his wife of nearly two decades, Malaak Compton-Rock, which was finalized in 2016.
In mid-January, multiple media outlets reported that Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler parted ways late last year. The couple of nearly a decade first sparked split speculation when they celebrated the holidays separately. The "Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood" actor was also noticeably absent when the former "High School Musical" star turned 31 on Dec. 14. On Jan. 15, E! News reported that, according to a source, they called it quits because they're "shooting on two different continents and it's a matter of distance." Said the source, "There is no bad blood at all, and they have a lot of respect for each other." A second insider, meanwhile, said that the pair "could find their way back to one another."
On Jan. 14, Page Six broke the news that Pete Davidson's whirlwind romance with Kaia Gerber had come to an end after the "Saturday Night Live" star's intensity became "overwhelming" for the teen model. Around the same time, E! News reported that the duo hadn't had a lot of contact since late 2019, which is when the "Saturday Night Live" comedian entered a program to help him deal with his mental health issues. During a headline-making interview with Charlamagne Tha God that popped up on YouTube on Feb. 24, Pete said that he and Kaia called it quits because she's "very young" and he was "going through a lot" during their time together. "She should be having fun. She shouldn't have to worry about some dude that just has issues. She should be enjoying her work," he said, adding that "it just wasn't the right place or the right time at all" for them to be together. He then called the teen model "beautiful" and "smarter" than him.
Jesse Metcalfe and longtime love Cara Santana ended their relationship in late January after the actor was caught on camera getting cozy with two different women -- Hungarian model Livia Pillmann and Australian actress Jade Albany Pietrantonio -- during two separate outings in the Los Angeles area on Jan. 20. In the days that followed, there were conflicting reports about whether or not he and Cara -- who got engaged in 2016 -- were on a break or officially broken up when he started spending time with the other women. On Jan. 4, the longtime couple posed together on the red carpet at the Art of Elysium's annual Heaven gala, during which Cara described their relationship as "just easy." Jesse referred to her as his fiancée as recently as Jan. 15, contradicting reports that they split early in the month.
During a February interview with Israel's LaIsha magazine, Meital Dohan confirmed that she and Al Pacino are no longer together . The Israeli singer-actress, who was first linked to the Oscar winner in the summer of 2018, lamented that it was "hard to be with a man so old." She went on to call the 36-year age-gap between herself and her ex "difficult." She also called the actor "an elderly man" and complained that "he didn't like to spend money." Said the former "Weeds" star, "I had a fight with him and left him recently, but of course I really love and appreciate him, and I was glad to be there for him when he needed me, and to be a part of his legacy. It's an honor for me. I'm glad this relationship happened between us, and hope we remain good friends."
Three days after Kehlani and YG celebrated Valentine's Day by releasing the romantic collaboration "Konclusions" -- on which the rapper seemingly addresses the late-2019 rumors that he cheated on the "CRZY" singer -- she dropped another new song, "Valentine's Day (Shameful)," accusing him of cheating on her and of using her for status, fame and recognition. On the deeply personal solo track, Kehlani sings that she realized her off-and-on love was cheating when she read his text messages while he was asleep. She later wrote in a since-deleted tweet that she's currently single.
On the Feb. 5 episode of her "Good For You " podcast, Whitney Cummings revealed that she and Miles Skinner are "no longer engaged ." She went on to say that "nothing nasty" happened and that there was "no drama" between her and her former fiancé -- she just realized after her mother suffered a stroke that she "truly just was not ready to plan a wedding." She then called the process of planning their wedding "overwhelming and kind of sad."
On Jan. 22, Lena Waithe released a statement announcing that she and Alana Mayo are ending their marriage ... just two months after she revealed that they'd secretly tied the knot sometime last year . According to lovebscott.com , they called it quits over the actress-filmmaker's infidelity issues. The blog's sources alleged that the duo were already on the rocks when they tied the knot following "multiple instances" of infidelity on Lena's part. "Lena went along with [the wedding] as a way to placate Alana and salvage their relationship," reported B. Scott. Said a source, "Even after they married, Lena was still buying designer gifts -- Chanel, Gucci -- for other women." On Jan. 23, Bossip reported that the "Master of None" star had been secretly dating and living with Cynthia Erivo, though it was unclear at the time if they became an item before or after Lena and Alana split.
On Feb. 11, Queen Elizabeth II's eldest grandson, Peter Phillips, and his wife, Autumn Kelly, released a statement announcing that they'd "jointly agreed to separate " after more than a decade of marriage. A day earlier, The Sun reported that it was Autumn's decision to end the union. According to the British tabloid's sources, Princess Anne's son is "devastated" and "in total shock" over the implosion of their marriage. But they aren't the only members of the royal family who announced a split this year...

"Anchorman" star David Koechner filed to divorce his wife of nearly 22 years, motivational speaker and podcaster Leigh Koechner, in Los Angeles on Jan. 14. The duo share five children. "Divorce sucks, but we don't have to suffer," Leigh tweeted while promoting her upcoming series of divorce-themed webinars on the same day that the split news hit the Internet.
On Feb. 14, "Bachelor in Paradise" couple Krystal Nielson and Chris Randone released a joint statement to Bachelor Nation announcing that they'd separated after less than a year of marriage . It remains to be seen if they're calling it quits for good or simply "taking some time apart," as the blonde beauty -- who was noticeably wearing her engagement ring -- said on her Instagram Story on Feb. 18. The following day, she shed some light on their "conscious separation," explaining that Chris moved to Florida to "begin an exciting adventure" while she chose to stay in San Diego with their two dogs. She also noted that they "care so deeply about one another" and haven't quite "processed what this new 'chapter' actually IS." On March 9, Chris tweeted that he and Krystal are "not even close " to being "over over."
In other Bachelor Nation breakup news... On Jan. 29, former "Bachelor in Paradise" co-stars Joe Amabile and Kendall Long released a joint statement announcing that they called it quits when he decided to move back to Chicago from the Los Angeles area, where they started living together in April 2019. On the Feb. 11 episode of her "Down to Date" podcast, Kendall said that she did't see the breakup coming and that she thought she and Joe "were going to literally be married." Explained the blonde beauty, "Ultimately what happened was that Joe felt like he would have a better [life] in Chicago. ... In no way can I ever be upset with him and have [resentment] toward him changing his mind and choosing to move because I understand the stresses of living somewhere like L.A. away from your family. That was also a huge reason why I didn't see myself moving from L.A. at least at that point in my life." She also said that "there's still a lot of love and respect" between her and her ex.
According to TMZ , Logan Paul and Josie Canseco called it quits in mid-February when she ghosted him after just a month of dating . The model reportedly told friends that the YouTube star "just wasn't the one for her" and that she "worries he simply used her for publicity."
In other Paul family breakup news... Logan Paul 's brother, Jake Paul, and Tana Mongeau took to Instagram on Jan. 2 to announce that they're "taking a break" from their fake marriage. (The duo "tied the knot" in a non-legally-binding ceremony in Las Vegas in July 2019 .) Even though we hit a rough patch I'm excited to still continue to put out the unreleased music & videos we have completed together," he captioned a photo of himself and his ex. "No matter what the future has planned for us I hope we can always remain friends & create more together one day! I love you forever & always. God definitely put u in my life for a reason. ... I still have love for Tay no matter what we go through."
