The segment misspelled the names of Spanish singer Camilo Sesto and The Cars' Ocasek.
Fans on social media were quick to blast the Grammys for not including a host of musical stars in the ceremony's In Memoriam video segment, as well as misspelling the names of The Cars' Ric Ocasek and Spanish singer Camilo Sesto.
The segment, which pays tribute to those that have died over the last year, misspelled Ocasek's first name as "Rick" and Sesto's first name as "Camile."
The slideshow shown during the kudocast also made several notable omissions, including Silver Jews singer David Berman, who died in August, and Bushwick Bill, a member of the influential Texas rap group The Geto Boys, who died in June.
There also was no mention of British-American singer-songwriter and avant-garde stylist Scott Walker, a member of the Walker Brothers, whose hits included "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore" and "Make It Easy on Yourself." The list also left off British singer Keith Flint, frontman of the Grammy-nominated band The Prodigy, and Mark Hollis, lead singer and songwriter of the Brit synth band Talk Talk.
Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter and English Beat singer Ranking Roger were also missing.
The official Grammy site did, however, include all the omitted names in a more comprehensive list of recently deceased musical stars. The Grammy Awards aired live from Staples Center on CBS, with Alicia Keys hosting.
