This Marvel Movie and More Coming to Disney+ In December - Showbiz Cheat Sheet

The long-awaited Disney streaming service Disney+ launched November 12. Fans have spent the month watching The Mandalorian, Lady and the Tramp and classic Disney, Marvel and Star Wars movies on the service. There are still a few missing, and there’s good news for December.

Disney+ announced new titles coming to the service in December today. These include one of the major Marvel movies missing from the launch, so you’re one step closer to completing the full 22 MCU movie marathon. Find out which Marvel movie Disney will add in December and which other movies and TV series are coming to the service.

These Marvel animated shorts are coming to Disney+ December 1

Read to the bottom of this article to find out which live-action Marvel movie is coming to Disney+ in December, but to tide you over, December 1 sees the addition of two Marvel Rising chapters. Marvel Rising has been an animated digital series.

Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts and Secret Warriors are coming to the service December 1. Chasing Ghosts is a 22 minute episode about Ghost-Spider. Secret Warriors totals a full 80 minute film when all 20 shorts are added together.

These live-action family films are available in December

Disney+ has provided a great opportunity for fans to see some of the studio’s live-action output over the decades. Now that Disney owns 20th Century Fox, they’ve been able to include some of Fox’s family films too, although so far none of the Fox Marvel productions like X-Men.

The live-action Garfield is coming on the first of December, with Bill Murray as the voice of the lasagna eating cat. The Disney true sports story Glory Road also comes to Disney+ on December 1, joining modern sports classics Remember the Titans, Miracle, The Rookie, The Greatest Game Ever Played and Invincible..

On Wednesday, December 11, the sequel Alice Through the Looking Glass lands on the streaming service. While not the lucrative success the live-action Alice in Wonderland was, Through the Looking Glass is actually a better movie. It has a more linear story and shows Alice (Mia Wasikowska) as an empowered explorer.

These children’s and nature series are coming to Disney+

National Geographic is also part of the Disney family, and Disney+ is home to the original series The World According to Jeff Goldblum. Now the service is adding new seasons and specials for The Incredible Dr. Pol.

Other series coming December 1 include Henry Hugglemonster, Miles From Tomorrowland, Sheriff Callie’s Wild West, Star vs. The Forces of Evil, The Lion Guard and Just Like Me! 

This Marvel movie joins Disney+ December 5

Okay, you’ve been patient and you’ll have to be a little but more patient because this Marvel movie isn’t quite available on the first of the month. Thor: Ragnarok will be on Disney+ within the first week of December though, on December 5.

Taika Waititi directed the third standalone Thor movie and fully embraced Chris Hemsworth’s comedic gifts. He also introduced the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) to the MCU. Waititi is coming back for Thor: Love and Thunder
