Sam Hunt has released a statement after his arrest early Thursday morning (Nov. 21), following charges of driving under the influence in Nashville.
“Wednesday night I decided to drive myself home after drinking at a friend’s show in downtown Nashville,” Hunt tweeted. “It was a poor and selfish decision and I apologize to everyone who was unknowingly put at risk and let down by it. It won’t happen again.”
Hunt was reportedly driving down the wrong way of Nashville’s Ellington Parkway with two open containers in his car when police pulled him over.
According to Davidson County’s Criminal Court Clerk records, Hunt was arrested and booked on Nov. 21 and charged with a misdemeanor for an open container as well as DUI charges.
