On View presents images from noteworthy exhibitions

VICTORIA MIRO in London is showing nine new paintings by Kudzanai-Violet Hwami. “When You Need Letters for Your Skin” is the Hwaami’s first solo exhibition with the gallery since joining the roster in December. Born in Gutu, Zimbabwe, she grew up in South Africa from age nine to 17 and is now based in the UK. In a video introducing the exhibition, Hwami said the show “is dealing with internal and private curiosities. The paintings present themselves as visual letters to the self.” CT

“Kudzanai-Violet Hwami: When You Need Letters for Your Skin” is on view at Victoria Miro in London, from Sept. 3-Nov. 6, 2021
