JACKSONVILLE – Trevor Lawrence is ready for what comes next.
That's the opinion of many NFL observers regarding the Jaguars' rookie quarterback, and it was a major theme recently when NFL Media draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah discussed the team's 2021 NFL Draft class.
"There are little things you can work on, but you're nitpicking," Jeremiah said.
Jeremiah, one of the most-respected draft analysts, joined jaguars.com senior reporter/editor J.P. Shadrick recently and discussed multiple issues related to the '21 draft. Foremost among them was Lawrence, selected by the Jaguars No. 1 overall.
"He does everything at a very high level," Jeremiah said. "He's wired the right way. He's even-keel. He's everything you want in terms of walking into a place like this as the No. 1 overall pick with expectations. He has had expectations his whole life. I don't think it's too big for him at all.
"I know Jaguars fans are fired up, and they have a right to be."
Jeremiah also discussed other '21 Jaguars draft selections, including:
*Running back Travis Etienne (No. 25 overall, Round 1): "You've got to be able to hit some home runs, hit the ball out of the park – and have some short drives. I think Etienne gives you that ability – not only being able to run the ball but catching the ball. You can craft a role for him in that way."
*Offensive tackle Walker Little (No. 45, Round 2): "He's a massive human being. I don't think he has to be rushed on the field with the [Jaguars'] offensive line and the pieces that are there. You can be patient and see if he can fight and earn his way into a starting position."
*Safety Andre Cisco (No. 65, Round 3): "He just has really good instincts. He has outstanding ball skills and takes really good angles."
*Defensive tackle Jay Tufele (No. 106, Round 4): "He has a lot of ability. He is explosive. He has a lot of twitch and a lot of athleticism – and he plays really, really hard."
