ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. – Local leaders in Roanoke City and Roanoke County are teaming up to reinvent the Oak Grove area and they want your input.
Roanoke County is holding a public hearing about the Reimagine Oak Grove plan next month.
It covers commercial development and housing, improved transportation and access to shops, streetscapes and even walking trails and parks.
The ultimate goal is to improve quality of life and attract businesses.
The plan has been in the works since 2018 and has gotten a lot of feedback, so the county wants to take the revised draft to the community one last time before a potential approval this spring.
“Hopefully we’ll hear good things about the plan as it’s recommended, but again, it’s an opportunity to weigh in and we’ll make adjustments based on those comments,” said Philip Thompson, the director of planning for Roanoke County
The hearing is scheduled for February 2.
