Want To Avoid Crowded Buses, Trains? CTA Has New Tool So You Can Look Up When They're Busy - Block Club Chicago

CHICAGO — The CTA has a new tool to help travelers see when their buses and trains will be less crowded.

The tool is meant to help riders who want to practice social distancing and avoid crowded trains and buses amid the coronavirus pandemic, according to the Mayor’s Office. It will be available online Thursday.

The CTA already offered information on when bus routes are crowded, using historical data, but now the dashboard will include historical data on “L” cars so riders have an idea of when their train might be busy.

The tool has also been upgraded with a “new look to make it quicker and easier for riders to see how crowded a bus or train may be at various times of the day,” according to the Mayor’s Office.
