Here are the questions we’re answering today:

What are the Republican legislators who want to impeach Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine thinking? They think his response to the coronavirus crisis has been unconstitutional. Three Ohio House Republicans argue that DeWine has “repeatedly proven his incompetence by providing wildly inaccurate forecasts and repeatedly misleading COVID-19 data; and committed misfeasance and malfeasance with his policy prescriptions, which have proven to be far worse than the virus itself.”

What do we think the odds are that Browns fans will find a way to tailgate this fall even with the city banning all tailgating from its traditional home in the muni lot? Pretty good that they’ll find somewhere new to gather. But fans cannot tailgate before home games in Cleveland’s Muni Lot. No vehicles will be allowed into any city-owned parking lots on game days until two hours before kickoff.

What is the RTA trying to keep secret about the discipline given to its new acting police chief in a harassment case? The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority refuses to say whether the new chief was disciplined as a result of that 2018 harassment complaint.

If the idea of remote learning is to stop spreading the coronavirus, why can school-aged kids go to daycare centers? The expanded license is so parents who need to work can secure child care.

What are the chances that people in Northeast Ohio can participate in trials on a promising coronavirus vaccine? And why are Cleveland-area pharmacies ordering lots of extra flu vaccines this year? Cleveland-area pharmacies and doctors are anticipating that people who skipped a flu shot in the past will want one this year, to keep themselves healthy. Meanwhile, anyone can call University Hospitals and try to get into this COVID-19 vaccine trial, open to adults 18 to 85 who are not pregnant. Because of the disproportional rate of COVID-19 among people of color, UH plans to ensure that people of color are well represented in this study.

Why can’t Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost participate in a U.S. Supreme Court hearing about the future of Obamacare? Because Ohio is not a party in the case, but rather wanted to participate as a friend of the court. Yost says he’s not surprised by the ruling.

How many Northeast Ohio non-profit institutions got hit by the ransomware hacking attack that was aimed at the global cloud company Blackbaud? At least four. Local institutions such as the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Holden Forests and Gardens, the Cuyahoga Community College Foundation and Kent State University were indirectly affected.

After last spring’s less-than-successful remote learning experience, many school districts have moved to Zoom as their platform, so should they be worried by yesterday’s widespread outages? You’d hope they could get this figured out, as people logged on for business meetings and students headed back to school online.
