'The Voice': Blake Shelton lays a big kiss on Nick Jonas after blocking him - USA TODAY

Blake Shelton’s alter ego is back on "The Voice."

The country crooner unleashed 'Block' Shelton during the third night of Blind Auditions Monday after using his only block on the newest coach, Nick Jonas.

"Nick is the new guy but he’s catching on super quickly," Shelton said. "I would never say this to his face, but I feel a little bit threatened by Nick right now. I haven’t used my block yet. I’m just waiting for the perfect artist."

Then came country/rock singer Joei Fulco.

Shelton swiftly blocked Jonas from 23-year-old Fulco, who offered up a unique take on Cher's "Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves." Clarkson called her voice "weathered" and Shelton said her sound "set her apart from everyone."

"As you can see I thought you were amazing, but my friend Blake over here decided to cut me off," Jonas said told Fulco. "This is unfair."

The coaches eventually kissed and made up – literally. "Are we friends now?" Jonas asked Shelton, who leaned in for a long embrace and smooch on the cheek. "Of course we're friends,"Shelton said.

Jonas wiped his face as Clarkson advised, "Never go in for a hug." Jonas added: "I still have Blake’s kiss on my face. I’m going to go wash my face after this."

'The Voice' premiere: Rookie coach Nick Jonas gets first-night revenge on John Legend

Shelton said blocking Jonas was nothing personal, just a "rite of passage as a new coach on this show." He cracked, "It happened to (Legend), it didn’t totally happen to (Clarkson) but that’s mostly because no one is threatened by Kelly."

But Clarkson had the final say. She gave Shelton a taste of his own medicine with the last block in the competition. Her game plan? "If it's someone country, I’m definitely going to try to block the cowboy."

Clarkson got her chance with Samantha Howell, an 19-year-old Virginia native who auditioned with REO Speedwagon's "Take It On The Run."

'The Voice': Nick Jonas is the new rookie coach, so let the hazing begin

The "American Idol" alum didn't let a second go by, instantly blocking Shelton after hearing "a millisecond" of Howell's voice. The block left Shelton pulling his hair out of his head.

"Look at this man’s hair. He’s tearing his hair out in disappointment," Legend observed as Clarkson enthusiastically cheered: "Yes!… I get one block for this entire season and I used it girl, for you!"

A spiteful Shelton did everything in his power to convince Howell to chose Jonas, who also turned around. "Probably one of the biggest groups in the world would be a group called the Jonas Brothers. They have a giant fan base" to vote," he pushed.

Clarkson quipped, "I’ve never heard of them."

Despite Shelton's best efforts to help out Jonas, Howell went with Clarkson. And Shelton is now determined to form an alliance with anyone other than his "Voice" arch nemesis, Clarkson.

"Nick and Kelly seem to have the current rivalry and I want to help the kid," Shelton declared. "I’m making it my mission this season to endorse anybody else but Kelly."

Blind Auditions resume on "The Voice" Tuesday on NBC.
